Austin Brown is an author and third generation rancher of Brown Land & Cattle LLC, a South Texas Ranch outside of Beeville, TX. He and his son, Austin III, the Ranch Manager, are both Directors of the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. Recently he wrote down some of the many stories he's heard and the funny things he's seen while growing up, ranching, when traveling, and working cattle elsewhere in West Texas; and reduced them to short, simple poetry -- Cowboy Poetry. His recent book is entitled Poet Lariat. It is illustrated by renowned Cowboy Artist Mike Capron's pen and ink drawings, as well as by many personal photos that document the ranching life. His friend Buster Welch was kind enough to write the Foreword.
About Poet Lariat:
Poet Lariat was released in February and Austin has had book signings at the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association Convention in March, at the Trappings event at the Museum of the Big Bend in April, and at the Joe Barnhart Bee County Library also in April.
His next signing will be at The Twig Book Shop on July 13, where he will be joined by Cowboy Artist Mike Capron. He is so excited to have Mike join him and hopes "y'all come"!
