Reading, Q&A and book signing with award-winning authors Brittani Sonnenberg and Nan Cuba
Brittani Sonnenberg’s award-winning fiction has been widely published in magazines such as Ploughshares, O’Henry Short Story Prize Series, and Best American Short Stories. Her non-fiction has been published in Time Magazine, the Associated Press, NPR and elsewhere. Her highly acclaimed first novel Home Leave (2014) was a New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice. She lives in Austin and serves as a visiting lecturer at the MFA program of the University of Hong Kong.
Nan Cuba is the founder and executive director emeritus of Gemini Ink, and teaches in the MA/MFA Program inLiterature, Creative Writing, and Social Justice at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, where she is writer-in-residence. She is the author of Body and Bread, winner of the PEN Southwest Award in Fiction and the Texas Institute of Letters Steven Turner Award for Best Work of First Fiction. She is co-editor of Art at our Doorstep: San Antonio Writers and Artists, and published other work in Antioch Review, Harvard Review, Columbia, and Chicago Tribune’s Printer’s Row. She has received a Dobie Paisano Fellowship, an artist residency at Fundación Valparaiso in Spain, and was a finalist for the Humanities Texas Award for Individual Achievement.
