Carrie Fountain’s poems have appeared in American Poetry Review, Tin House, Poetry, and other publications. Her debut collection, Burn Lake, was a 2009 National Poetry Series winner and was published in 2010 by Penguin. Her second collection, Instant Winner, was published in 2014. Born and raised in Mesilla, New Mexico, Fountain received an MFA as a fellow at the James A. Michener Center for Writers at the University of Texas at Austin. She lives in Austin with her husband, playwright Kirk Lynn, and their children.
David Liss’s debut novel, A Conspiracy of Paper (2000), was named a New York Times Notable Book and won him the 2001 Barry, MacAvity, and Edgar awards for Best First Novel. His other novels, The Coffee Trader (2003) and A Spectacle of Corruption (2004), named New York Times Notable Books, were each selected by the New York Public Library as one of the year’s 25 Books to Remember, and became national bestsellers.
