Charlie Maddox is a senior citizen who is more active than his family would like him to be. After being kicked out of numerous retirement homes, he is placed in Restwood Manor by his son, Charles, Jr., who has warned him to behave. Charlie is not known for playing by the rules.
He immediately makes friends with a very engaging Mr Peabody, (need a description here), and Colonel Billingsworth, (description). He also enjoys flirting with the predominately female population to include Alicia (description) and Millie (description). It doesn’t take Charlie long to be liked by everyone, except perhaps the staff.
Joe Perez (Joey to his childhood friends and family) has been writing for most of his life and, over many years, has tried his hand at poems, lyrics, short stories, and screenplays. He has a fondness for stories where the underdog comes out on top. His wife of 39 years gives him the encouragement to write. He is most proud that their children have a good sense of humor and have become intelligent, articulate adults.
Joe enjoys reading but enjoys writing even more. He believes every person has a quirk and has identified his. He has lived in the same ZIP Code his entire life. His fascination with ZIP Codes may have something to do with his 41-year career with the Post Office. He also enjoys participating in Spanish Colonial living history and is a member of the Order of Granaderos y Damas de Gálvez. Aside from spending time with his family, he enjoys going for walks with his two furry daughters, Bella and Luna.
