About Larry Johnson:
Larry Johnson was born in Chicago and is now a resident of San Antonio Texas. He is a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Speech and earned his Master’s Degree in Economics & Latin American Studies, from La Universidad de las Americas in Mexico City. His professional background includes: 21 years as Human Resources manager with AT&T/Southwestern Bell, 22 years as a radio and television broadcaster in the U.S. and Mexico, and 34 years as a motivational speaker and workshop presenter. He has presented to groups in Mexico, Japan and the U.S. He has been an advocate and champion for persons with disabilities all of his life, serving in leadership roles with various organizations at the local, state and national level. He has been awarded The Texas Governor’s Committee’s Barbara Jordan Award for "Excellence in the Communication of the Reality of Disabled People". He is a frequent contributor to local and national periodicals and newspapers and author of three other books. Mexico by Touch: True Life Experiences of a Blind American Deejay, describing his adventures and misadventures living and working in Mexico for 17 years.
